[GSOC 2026 Proposal Issue]Grass proposal submitted under OSGeo instead of NumFOCUS

Hi,

I recently came across the discussion mentioning that GRASS proposals submitted under OSGeo cannot be reviewed this year due to the transition to NumFOCUS. Unfortunately, I realized that I made the same mistake and submitted my proposal under OSGeo.

The proposal which I submitted was focused on improving the grass.jupyter user experience-under Anna Petrasova. While working on it, I spent time understanding the current architecture, particularly InteractiveMap and the rendering pipeline, and also studied the related research paper- Integrating GRASS GIS and Jupyter Notebooks to facilitate advanced geospatial modeling education. I additionally worked on an issue and opened a PR, which helped me get familiar with GRASS internals and the contribution workflow.

I completely understand the limitation regarding proposal consideration, but I wanted to ask if there is any possible step I can take from my side (for example, contacting OSGeo or NumFOCUS admins or GSOC support) in case there is even a small possibility of making the proposal accessible for review, any guidance on this could be really helpful for me.

If that’s still not possible, I would still try to continue contributing to this project. Based on the plan outlined in my proposal, I intend to begin implementing the proposed improvements step by step and contribute them as PRs, aligned with your feedback. For context, I am sharing my proposal here (not for formal GSoC evaluation, but to outline the direction of the work I plan to contribute): [Vedant_Bachhav_GRASS_proposal_link]Btw if there are specific areas within the plan mentioned in the proposal that would be more useful to prioritize, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks.
