GSoC 2026 - Week 6 (July 7th - July 13th ): Preparing and Submitting the As-Of Pull Request

Project: Time-Travel Data Access and Versioning UI for istSOS Web Administration

I performed the following tasks during this week:

  • Reviewed the As-Of implementation and fixed several issues identified before opening the pull request, including missing tracked files, removal of unused components, and ensuring snapshot mode consistently disables write operations across the interface.

  • Investigated and resolved a development environment issue where NEXT_PUBLIC_VERSIONING_ENABLED was not being propagated to the running Docker development container, allowing seamless switching between mock and real backend modes during development.

  • Synchronized my fork with the latest upstream changes, migrated the implementation onto the GSoC_2026-TimeTravel development branch, and manually resolved merge conflicts while preserving the completed work.

  • Revalidated the application after integration by rebuilding the project and testing the updated development environment.

  • Prepared and submitted the As-Of frontend implementation as a pull request for mentor review.

What do I plan to do next week?

  • Address review comments and feedback received on the As-Of pull request.

  • Continue the frontend implementation of the from_to temporal navigation workflow.

  • Refine the from_to interface based on mentor discussions and previous design iterations.

Am I blocked on anything?

  • No, currently I do not have any blocking issues.
