Hi everyone! I’m Arth from India.
I’m a beginner in geospatial development but I am comfortable with Python and want to start contributing to GRASS GIS.
My goal is to learn GRASS GIS development and contribute consistently, so that I can prepare for GSoC 2026 with the GRASS GIS project.
Can someone guide me toward beginner-friendly issues (especially Python-related), documentation improvements, or places where I can start?
Thank you!

Arth,
Welcome to GRASS!
One place to start would be the GRASS issues section in github, GitHub · Where software is built . Also the GRASS addons github repository, GitHub · Where software is built . Many of the addons are written in python and might be an onramp to GRASS development related to your skills.

Thank you so much for the guidance!
I have already submitted my first PR for a documentation improvement in the main GRASS repo. I will now start exploring the GRASS Addons repository, especially the Python-based modules, to find beginner-friendly issues and understand the structure.
If you have any specific addon or module you recommend as a starting point for Python developers, please let me know — I would love to dive into it.
