Tell us about yourself
Hello everyone,
my name is Marco Stefano La Sala. I am a self-employed agronomist based in the Milan area, Italy.
I use open-source GIS tools in my professional work, particularly for urban green infrastructure management, tree inventories, agronomic consultancy, spatial analysis and field data collection.
My workflow often starts with field surveys. Observations, photographs, geometries and measurements are then organised into georeferenced databases, maps and geographic information systems.
I mainly work with QGIS, mobile data-collection tools, satellite data and UAV photogrammetric surveys.
I am also completing a postgraduate Master’s degree in GIScience and Remotely Piloted Systems at the University of Padua.
What do you want to learn / contribute
I would like to improve my knowledge of WebGIS, spatial data infrastructures, PyQGIS, GeoNetwork, GeoServer and open-source solutions for managing and publishing geographic data.
I am particularly interested in GIS applications for agronomy, urban green infrastructure, environmental management, UAV surveys and public authorities.
I hope to learn from the OSGeo community, share my professional experience and contribute practical use cases, feedback, documentation.
