Tell us about yourself: I am Abinaya from India. I am interested in geospatial technologies and open-source contributions. I have been actively contributing to OpenStreetMap by improving map data in my local region(Coimbatore). I am currently exploring open-source GIS software and would like to deepen my technical skills.
Any OSGeo projects and communities you are involved in: I recently contributed to QGIS Desktop by submitting a documentation fix on GitHub. I am beginning my journey in open-source contribution and looking forward to getting more invloved in QGIS community and other OSGeo software projects.
What do you want to learn / contribute? I would like to deepen my understanding of open-source GIS development, particularly in QGIS Desktop. I am interested in learning how the codebase is structured, how features are implemented, and how to contribute effectively through documentation improvements, bug fixes and small feature enhancements. My goal is to actively prepare for Google Summer of Code 2026 while continuing long-term contributions to the OSGeo community
