This is supposed to be a topic for everyone to introduce themselves and tell a few words on how they relate to QGIS. I’ll make a start and hope to hear from all of you as well
My name is Till Frankenbach, I‘m originally from Germany, but spent some time living in Canada. Specifically in BC on Vancouver Island, where I had a very great time.
I’m a core contributor of QGIS and have been for a couple of years now. Currently I work at OPENGIS.ch, but live in (also beautiful) Heidelberg, Germany.
If there’s something related to the Canadian user group and QGIS that I can help with, please reach out!
My name is Camilo Pérez, I am a GIS developer and business owner from Montreal, Canada but I was born in Santiago, Chili. I also spent some years living in beautiful Switzerland.
I am a daily user of QGIS and open-source geospatial technology and I firmly believe in community teamwork.
Hi,
I was a modest but active user of QGis for many years in France. I’m now in Québec and since I’m here (few years) I am disappointed by how little QGis is used in North America. I am studying in geomatics and I can now see it’s slowly changing : 2 years ago, some teachers were almost laughing at QGis. But now, after some personal lobbying, it becomes more and more a part of what they teach I hope soon to be hired in a company that extensively use QGis to work on it more often, like before !

Bonjour,
My name is David Legris, I am a GIS Specialist living in the modest sized city of Prince George, British Columbia. I am relatively new to the GIS space, working for a small environmental firm. I really enjoy working with QGIS and am a great proponent of open source projects. I think it is meaningful that we use, modify and expand upon QGIS as a community.
I was fortunate to attend the 2025 QGIS User Conference in Norrköping as a student. It was wonderful to meet many of the great folks in the QGIS community.
