Is there a function to do the reverse of r.in.ascii?

Dear Grass Users,

Is there a function that will do the reverse of r.in.ascii? That is,
convert a raster map layer into an ascii raster text file. Any
constructive comments and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dear fiends:

I'm studying the complementarity of optical and SAR/radar
images to classify and mapping secondary regrowth at
Brazilian Amazonia. So, I'm looking for people that
are working with Radar classify/segmentation/mapping
into grass.

Many tks, miltinho
