The docs for GeoServer mention, that GeoServer has been tested with 17; the docs don’t mention that it has been tested with Java 21.
Does someone have experiences running GeoServer with OpenJDK’s JRE generation 21? If so: Good or bad experiences?
If you happen to have tested GeoWebCache with OpenJDK JRE 21, I’m also curious to hear how it works.
We do run builds with full tests on Java 21, and we know Geoserver can
start and serve basic requests with it. Geoserver Cloud packaging also
defaults on Java 21 (a one man decision from that project developer,
AFAIK). That’s all I know, I haven’t witnessed Geoserver production systems
using it.
Cheers
Andrea
