Name: Jorge Sanz

Tell us about yourself and a page describing yourself with further detail:

Hi there, I’m Jorge, from València, Spain. I’ve been involved with the OSGeo Foundation since the beginning, first helping to translate the old website into Spanish, then being part of the organizing team for the Spanish Language Local Chapter, later being involved with the Incubation Committee with the gvSIG Desktop software, OSGeo Live, and so on.

Any OSGeo projects and communities you are involved in:

Nowadays, I’m not directly involved in any software project, but I’m part of Spain’s QGIS association, the organization team for the Spanish microchapters network called Geoinquietos, and the annual unconference called Geocamp.

What do you want to learn / contribute?

For the last years, I’ve been the maintainer of the OSGeo Planet and a News editor, along with some assistance to the SAC Committee on things related to our mailing lists and forum. At this point, I’m not looking to extend my commitment to other areas
