[Marketing] IRC Meeting

Hello,
I propose to revive our regular IRC meetings.

Jeroen asked whether we could make it a little later at 9pm European time. Is that good for the rest of us?

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?month=11&day=21&year=2007&hour=20&min=0&sec=0&p1=0

Please reply whether you (anyone on this list who is interested) can make it.

Lets put up an agenda, there is lots to discuss for sure but with a little structure it might be more efficient.

We could restart by defining our current marketing goals (just some thought):
* Boost spreading OSGeo's name (how to?)
* Produce HQ paper version of project / committee info sheets * Create an OSGeo CD/DVD with all projects to give away together with HQ paper version of project / committee info sheets
* Actively plan and commit to more conferences, trade fairs, events at large
* more?

Best regards, Arnulf.

I'll be there.

I'm unable to attend this week, but I'm very interested in having MGOS included on the OSGeo project CD/DVD.
Thanks,
Nathalie

+1 for revival of regular IRC meetings.
However, I won't be able to make it
to next scheduled meeting.

Perhaps, delaying future meetings by an hour
could help Daniele and me to be up and
awake at the IRC. 5am (JST) on a cold winter
could be a little tough. Glad Daniele could make
it at the IRC and enjoyed the stimulating
discussions too.

I can imagine! It's just starting to get into winter here (-7C this morning).

I think the only solution to the timezone problem would be to regularly change the time. I put a few of our locations into this meeting planner - as you can see, someone from each timezone should be sleeping no matter what hour we choose

Maybe each month we can advance the time by 7 to 9 hours - making it land at the end of the "sleeping time" for only one locale (and late evening and mid-day for the others). I can live with that.

Tyler

I think it's a good solution.
