Cannot see SVG while travelling - consider what was done for the geoforall logo.

Feel free to email the marketing list with this discussion - the graphics designer is signed up there while they are on contract.

Jody, Marc (apologies if I should be mailing someone else)

We have been playing around with creating a UK chapter logo in the new style.

OSGeoUK follows the guideline with the strap-line below the main text, the problem is that UK looks very small and gets lost visually

OSGeoUK2 puts the UK alongside the main text and uses the new green colour

OSGeoUK3 is as above but with the UK in black

Thoughts?

Cheers

Out of the options listed think I like the OSGeo:UK logo with alternating colours the best. Have you considered one similar to GeoForAll - so OSGeoUK (the “:” is a bit distracting visually).

Thank you folks for starting this off. Did you have any opinions about customizing the “mark” or is the default one fine?

I also wondered if using the small text “United Kingdom” rather than UK would work visually?

We couldn’t find the GeoForAll version to compare?

Happy to try without the ‘:’

My view (Jo or other UK folk may disagree) is that we always talk about our chapter as "OSGeo UK” we’d never say United Kingdom. United Kingdom in smaller text below the logo would work but it would be visually more cluttered IMO. It depends whether there is a strict guideline for the way local chapters implement the new design or whether you are ok with some flexibility?

Cheers

I’m not able to find previous emails about this topic, do you think all the chapters should use for their logo the same brand of the OSGeo one?
I’m thinking to association like Italian [0] or German [1] with “long” history and complete different logo…

We are still waiting on final style guide, see v1 below.

In addition to this draft - and a template was provided where you could type in the subheading. It basically lines up with the main text.

It is an interesting point - I had assume local chapters would all make their own logo (we provided some examples as part of the expression of interest process ). Marc and the designer assumed everyone would use the same logo with different headings.

Do not check for email, check the meeting minuets for record of previous discussion.

thanks for useful files,

maybe this should be discussed with chapters, I would like the idea but
maybe other no... In Italy for example there was no discussion about
that...I will open one soon

Ok, I will do
