[Marketing] Marketing budget FOSS4G 2008

FYI: I'm looking at the following spending options for FOSS4G.

Demo computer for the OSGeo stand: Abt US$140 for 5 days, though this
will likely be higher if we get a bigger screen (19" currently).

Live DVD: If this is ready in time, the cost for duplicating 100 is at
least US$140 + VAT. This gives us low res one colour disk printing.
I'm still chasing other options for this.

I believe both are worthwhile. Are there any objections?

Regards,
Tim Bowden

I'm +1 for both.

Sure no objections! is 100 Live DVDs enough? I would go for at least 2 or 300 if it is a fairly complete stack.

+1 for both as well. I still see the DVD duplication as an experiment, so wonder how it will turn out, but I support the idea. Where will they get printed?

I understand that Tim has found somewhere in South Africa to do the printing. Not sure where.

With regards to numbers of DVDs printed. Echo's Tim's comments:

* We see this as an experiment.
* There will be 500 people at the conference, most OSGeo types will be able to download the DVDs off the internet, to we are mainly targeting local users. I'm guessing local attendance will be ~ half, or 250.
If we have the budget, a print run of 200 would be good, but if we are treating as an experiment, 100 should suffice.

What is the process for getting sign off on the budget?
