[Marketing] Possible free OSGeo booth during OGC TC/PC Seoul meeting

Dear All,

I'm Sanghee Shin from Korea.

OGC TC/PC meeting[1] will be held at COEX[2], Seoul from 7th to 12th, October.

I discussed the possibility of getting a free booth under the name of OSGeo during conference with OGC TC/PC LOC . And I got a very positive response from OGC TC/PC LOC recently.

I'm not sure whether my activities are in line with OSGeo marketing committees strategy. However I think it could be a great chance for us to promote OSGeo activities among major geo-spatial players.

Any thoughts on this?

Sanghee

Sanghee,
This is indeed in line with OSGeo Marketing strategy. Well done for identifying this opportunity.

Some things you might wish to consider is:
* Offering to provide an OSGeo or OSGeo-Live presentation.

You can draw upon base material here:
https://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/livedvd/promo/trunk/en/presentation/

Alternatively, if you wish to set up a booth, then you may wish to make use of our Exhibition pack.
Our marketing committee have funds available for local committees to purchase non-consumable items for an exhibition. (Ie it doesn't cover printing Live DVDs, or printing paper)

Sanghee,
good to see you progress, this is a great opportunity and exactly how
Local Chapters can help to grow their communities. Once you have date,
time and a rough program outlined please feel free to let this list
know so that we can add it to the OSGeo calender and make a news item.
At that point you should also consider mailing the main OSGeo Discuss
list to reach a broader audience.

I added the Local Chapter list as an incentive and hint how one can
become active.

Cheers,
Arnulf

Dear Cameron, Arnulf,

Thank you for your comments and advices.

After fixing all the date, time and program, I'll share the information in detail with other broader audience.

In the same week of OGC TC/PC Seoul meeting, Smart Korea Expo & FOSS4G Korea 2012 will be held at the same venue. So, our presence will also increase the awareness of OSGeo within Korean geospatial communities.

Cheers,

Sanghee
