[Marketing] Presentation template

That is great, I placed some background images (provided as drafts from the designer) in github to help Helena make an html template. But if you are good with your template skills you should be able to do a much better job. Do you think if we make a PNG image with transparency you could layer it overtop of a user supplied image?

For questions about the directory layout - we should have this conversation on the marketing email list, if you do not mind joining me there? (Kind of wish we could rebrand the marketing committee as “outreach committee” to attract volunteers like yourself).

Hi Jody,

I’m working on template for OSGeo presentation in Reveal.js. which directory layout you suggest? I’ve already forked the repository. I also plan to create Beamer one.

So far I keep it simple, no backgrounds. The current state is here:

Subscribed.

So the question is: Where to put the code of the Reveal.js presentation
considering that there will the Reveal.js code with it and there might be
more non-binary templates or examples such as LaTeX Beamer?

(Kind of wish we could rebrand the marketing committee as "outreach

I see. Well, there is a large overlap in the terms eps. for OSGeo.

Aside:
- Had to look up what reveal.js is, I assume you mean this one -
http://lab.hakim.se/reveal-js/#/

Yes. Specifically code from:

https://github.com/hakimel/reveal.js

- I usually use "landslide" (https://github.com/adamzap/landslide) and
RST for presentations because I use RST for documentation

RST support is certainly a nice feature not available in Reveal.js (HTML or
Markdown only).

That is beautiful work mate - not sure if you intended to share your whole talk before you give it the first time?

I like the look, but I am keen on matching the look and feel of the presentation template provided by the designer.

Have a look at the backgrounds here:

And see how custom images work here:

If we can get something that looks correct we can make an “html” template, or even a seperate repo that people can just fork from.

100% is indeed large

Markdown can work, it is more readable then straight html.

That is beautiful work mate -

Thank you.

That's fine. The content now is an older presentation, but with updated
style and logos. But we work in open repos anyway.

Thanks. I've already seen what was linked from the website and couple of
other things including the backgrounds (thanks to Helena). But I kept the
current presentation simple. One reason being time. The other reason is
that simpler (no) background fits more with slides our group creates, so I
wanted be on brand, but at the same time very simple.

Anyway, I'm excited about the new branding and I'm willing to contribute to
the templates. Time line is unclear, but I'll be in touch.

I encountered couple of issues with the new branding and I'll post them to
this mailing list (if that's all right).

If we can get something that looks correct we can make an "html" template,
or even a seperate repo that people can just fork from.

A separate repository for each software/technology may be more practical
for forking and downloading, but perhaps little harder for updating (on the
other hand, you will always see how old the specific template is).
