I would like to ask the Marketing Commitee to produce OSGeoLive sticks that can be handed out in the next year at conferences.
First conference would be FOSS4G in Dar Es Saalam at the end of august.
OSGeoLive team is working hard at the new version. It would be great to spread it via an USB stick.
Maybe producing 500 sticks would be fine.
What do you think?

As far as I'm aware, the marketing committee is effectively empty.
I'd also suggest that managing a USB printer to produce bootable USBs has proven to be tricky. We have had print runs which resulted in USBs which were not bootable in the past.
I'd suggest that we need to identify someone prepared to manage the print run, for them to get a quote, and then have them present the quote to the marketing committee and CC the board. I think it will be the board who have active people and will end up making a decision.

no - that is not right. Nicolas Bozon, Jody and me are still there. And maybe some more. But you are right we were not active in the last months.

I volunteered last year to take care on the printing. But did not be active yet. Anyway I would ask the OSGeoLive team for help if needed.
In the end there are Jody and me in the Marketing Committee and also on the board (so we can transfer the information). Marketing Committee has budget for 2018 to produce USB sticks already - 4800 $.

I am happy to take part in the marketing committee, we just have been very light on request or initiatives this year.
One thing I have wanted to do (but have not had personal capacity to Shepard along) is round up bug reports against the new website and organizing getting them fixed. In the mean time Vicky has been chewing through the “mission critical” issues which is very impressive.
As for printing USB sticks the board does not have people, it has committees. Either the osgeo live committee or the marketing committee could take on the production of USB sticks.
And we have to find a chair. Let's discuss this at the next meeting.

FOSS4G is coming closer and I would like to order the 500 USB Sticks for FOSS4G.
I am already in contact with a provider and will put OSGeoLive 12 on it afterwards (as it is not ready before 15.8.)
We have bbudget for 2018 already for marketing material. But I would like to get an ok before I order (that was the reason why I also send the mail to the board list - have soome feedback already from some weeks ago)
