[Marketing] RE: Malaysia Geospatial Forum 2012

As it currently stands,
I don't believe that OSGeo has an official policy on endorsement in using the OSGeo brand.

However, if you have a session which is specifically discussing Geospatial Open Source technologies as the primary focus of the presentation, then I suggest that it would be appropriate to make use of the OSGeo brand.

Hello Cameron,

Thank you for your response. I know an Assoc. Prof. who is currently working to establish an open source lab in his university. I may refer this matter to him.

On another note, I was actually proposing an endorsement from OSGeo for our Open Source session at the conference. We will display OSGeo logo on all our promotional materials. Let me know if this can be done as we're finalizing our brochure today.

Thanks,
Sarah

Hello Sarah,
I'm one of the members of the OSGeo Marketing committee, and also coordinate the packaging of ~ 50 Geospatial Open Source applications as part of OSGeo-Live, http://live.osgeo.org .

We have compiled a "lightening" presentation which covers the breadth of Geospatial Open Source applications, which is often presented by either a keynote speaker, or by one of the conference organisors, or by one of the OSGeo-Live developers, at conferences around the world.
You can see it here:
https://svn.osgeo.org/osgeo/livedvd/promo/trunk/en/presentation/

Do you know someone who you think would be good at giving this presentation? If not, I can ask around to see if there is another OSGeo member who may be attending, or who is in the region and can make the conference.
