[Marketing] Re: T-shirts for WALIS Forum

OSGeo Marketing,
Australians have been debating OSGeo dress code for the upcoming WALIS conference in March.

Tim Bowden has conceded that we should wear something dressier than a T shirt.
(We are selling Open Source to Government agencies, and would like to show the professional side of OSGeo).

I'm thinking an open neck, button up shirt, with a breast pocket for business cards, or possibly an OSGeo tie.

Has this been discussed in Marketing circles yet?
If not, are there any guidelines regarding color, logo placement etc?
I'm aware that our previous shirts were black which ties in with Autodesk colors.

You mean has dressed code been discussed? No it hasn't. Hmm, I don't think we were trying to match any tie-ins with Autodesk colours. The black just gave a good contrast to the green and booth colours followed. We had an early advert made that used a black background and I think that started it all.

There are guidelines as to colors, fonts, etc -- they are... ummm.. on
the marketing section of the website somewhere.

(We used black for the original kickoff at Where 2.0 in '06 only because
black looked cool.)

Black is slimming as well, so I am quite happy with it  I must say I like the idea of an OSGeo tie. Is such a thing currently available?

The guidelines are linked from the logo page:

http://download.osgeo.org/osgeo/logos/OSGeo_logo_guide.pdf

But don't say a lot about positioning; just clearance from other
elements, etc...
