Can I please request Service Provider Author role for user peterafrigis?

I know you from the GeoServer project so let me provide a bit of context for other folks on this list.

Peter works for AfriGIS and has been a great addition to the GeoServer community in 2023, resulting in AfriGIS being listed on the project’s commercial support page.

Peter I need you to login to osgeo.org website using “peterafrigis” and setup your profile page; only then can I provide you the role.
(We do not fetch roles form our LDAP service, they are managed in wordpress)

Can I also make a few suggestions that I or someone else with permission can fix:

To be listed as a service provider:

  1. Create an OSGeo UserID.
  2. Sign up to the marketing committee email list and request Service Provider Author role.

If you send a second email volunteering for the marketing committee I will give you access to fix those typos. We are also seeking folks there enjoy social media - and can use an osgeo account to repost “cool foss4g stuff” when they see it :slight_smile:

Please check access you should be able to create a page now. There have been reports of difficulty uploading media content (logo and group photo): https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/ticket/3087

Hi Jody,

Thanks, SP access works correctly, and I had no problems uploading a 720 x 412 logo.

One minor issue that I encountered, when saving the draft: the About > Organisation Type was not saved and defaulted back to Individual Consultant (from Mid to large …)

The post is ready to be reviewed (as well as by our marketing team when they return next week).

If you insist, I will temporarily volunteer for the marketing committee (in order to fix the typos that I come across) but it might be the first time that the committee has someone on it who eschews social media entirely!
