[Marketing] so do we want a budget this year?

The board has asked for budget requests to come in by Dec 30th?

Here are our prior budgets:

Reviewing the 2019 budget there are several activities we did not get to, … and I think we had more requests for USB sticks then we had planned for?

With this in mind I am going to suggest running something similar to the 2019 budget again, increasing the amount per regional conferences.

We have relatively few ongoing costs, mailchimp and so on …

Hi Jody, all

…what was the $5k not approved from 2019? (apologies I should probably know this…)

I’ll ask if there are any other requirements from the Oceania perspective - we’ll be conferencing in Fiji for 2020, there might be a need for other materials (brochures etc).

Do we need a marketing sprint event?

We should definitely work on getting a website map sorted out…

Regards,

Adam

The requests were getting to 200k+ and the board wanted to scale back.

Okay, here is a wiki page: https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Marketing_Committee_Budget_2020

Thanks Jody

I think the budget request looks good.

Cheers,
Adam

Thanks,

Thoughts when making that page:
a) I would love a review from those involved in making live USB sticks.

b) I think we should try and actually make press releases this year and see if it has an effect

We should calculate 4 Euro per usb. So if we would like to provide usbs at the regional events we have should at least calculate with 100 sticks minimum per event.

4 x 100 = 400 Euro

Most of the events asked for more usbs +- 200

We should add more money to the calculation.

Very good idea.

Thank you for the numbers, can you add 300 euros per event to the wiki page. I am travelling or I would do so myself
