Yes Venka you mentioned it before, and we brought it up in one of the weekly meetings but I cannot see it mentioned in the meeting notes.
As I recall this was awkward for the graphics designer; not sure why call capitals is visually important. I guess the actions buttons and menus are always all capitals.
I wonder if “small caps” could be used as a compromise “OSGEO” (but perhaps that is just silly).

Aside: When we started the review I was given access to edit menus (in case we had any site map gaps) and looking now I can see that the menu items are indeed “OSGeo” (not “OSGEO”) internally.

+1 for using lower case with capital letters when needed, thanks Venka, and Jody.
The whole menu looks much better like this, thanks Jeffrey & Pim for the preview image.
This is good timing to recall that OSGeo should always be written OSGeo, and that our acronym should never be written OSGEO , osgeo or whatever wrong case.
Such rule should be stated very clearly by Mark’comm and be included in the Style Guide IMHO (on page 12 'Logo usage: Don’t, or on page 8 'Typography principles)
