Name: Nissim Lebovits (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nlebovits/)
Tell us about yourself:
I recently completed a Fulbright research fellowship in Argentina where I investigated ways for resource-constrained local governments to use open data and cloud-native geospatial tools to better manage climate risk. I currently work as a geospatial software engineer with a focus on data related to cities and climate risk. While completing my master’s in city planning in Philadelphia, I founded [Clean & Green Philly](https://www.cleanandgreenphilly.org/). I work mostly in Python, plus some R and JavaScript on the side.
Any OSGeo projects and communities you are involved in:
None, although I use QGIS, GDAL, etc. regularly. And now contribute to QGIS via the plugin ecosystem, I suppose.
What do you want to learn / contribute?
I’m build open-source geospatial software such as the [Argentine Census QGIS plugin]( GitHub - nlebovits/censo-argentino-qgis: Plugin de QGIS para cargar datos del Censo Argentino de 2022 ), geoparquet-io (https://geoparquet.io/), and portolan (GitHub - portolan-sdi/portolan: Tools for Cloud-Native Geospatial Spatial Data Infrastructure).
Do you need an OSGeo account?
Yes, I am publishing at least one QGIS plugin.
