Comment (by peterafrigis):

FYI, I was not expecting my (private?) ticket to end up publicly visible
at https://discourse.osgeo.org/t/osgeo-3206-please-merge-staging-
account/30811. Are you absolutely sure

a) that it is necessary

b) that posting to a public forum is what you want to do

c) that users will not be surprised by this action?

Comment (by jsanz):

For what is worth all tickets in the OSGeo Trac are public and can be
browsed without any OSGeo credentials.

The problem here (and it is a relevant one) is that Trac and mailman hide
email addresses in its web interface, while the emails sent to discourse
keep those in plain text.

I think the SAC should reconsider posting tickets to a public Discourse
forum, or find a way for emails to be cleaned in Discourse, I don't know
:frowning:

Comment:

Merge of the user has been done into user: peter.
btw, you logged to discourse without your ldap.
If you log into discourse with your ldap (peterafrigis) the username would
be your ldap name, and would need another merge.
Let me know.

About the discussion.
I think is relevant, so maybe a new ticket for it would be better.
