It seems that the I do not have permissions to create an OSGeo Provider.
The [https://www.osgeo.org/community/getting-started-osgeo/add-service-
provider/ documentation] ("Create a Service Provider") shows a screenshot
with "Service Provider" under the Plus-Icon. I my case only the "Media"
entry is visible.

Is it something you can resolve? Would you be so kind, to give me any
hints how to proceed from here?

Sorry, I think I misread, I thought it was Jody who created the ticket.

Actually Jody can create new service providers.

53North as a community we give access to people, rather than a generic
email address.

I guess I can see why that would be useful for a service provider.

Can I ask who we are speaking to?

@52north

Asking around, about service providers, please contact OSGeo marketing
Marketing - OSGeo Discourse

Marketing verifies the service provider and then creates the service
provider page, then editor role is given to the service provider.

you have many roles:

Administrator, Author, Charter member, Contributor, Editor, GeoForAll
Author, GeoForAll Editor, Page Editor, Project author, Project editor,
Project team, Service Provider author, Service Provider editor, User
manager, SEO Editor, SEO Manager

You can change your own roles

I mention that because the roles setup sometime inhibit things, I already
experienced weird things.

Like I was working on the forms, and I could not see the delete button,
and it was because I had a role that inhibited deleting forms.

removed the service-provider-author from your roles please try again
