Name: Pedro Bohorquez
Tell us about yourself: I am a civil engineer with professional experience in GIS applied to hydraulic and environmental projects. I work extensively with QGIS for spatial data analysis, geoprocessing, and workflow automation, particularly in tasks related to land use, hydrology, and hydraulic modelling. I am especially interested in developing practical tools that improve efficiency and consistency in technical GIS workflows.
Any OSGeo projects and communities you are involved in: None at the moment.
What do you want to learn / contribute? I want to deepen my knowledge of open-source geospatial tools and automated GIS workflows, and contribute by developing and maintaining QGIS plugins focused on real-world engineering applications. My goal is to share reliable, well-documented tools that help professionals perform their work faster, more accurately, and with greater reproducibility.
Do you need an OSGeo account? Yes, I need an OSGeo account to:
- Publish a QGIS plugin on https://plugins.qgis.org/ With source code link (provide link here) (note downloading plugins is free to all without need for a login). Here is my plugin, you can check it: GitHub - pedroiba94/CLC2Manning: QGIS plugin that assigns Manning roughness coefficients to CORINE Land Cover 2018 polygons, clips them to a user-defined Area of Interest, and prepares land-use roughness inputs for hydraulic and hydrological modelling workflows such as HEC-RAS.
- I’d like my project to become a community project of OSGeo
