[pgrouting-dev] [postgis-devel] 2.1 beta status Vote: +1

Devrim,

I'd love to. Does it require it to be feature complete though or does it
not have to be feature complete for beta?
I think we are more or less feature complete at this point.

But need to verify with

Strk, prasmey, dustymugs, pracine, colivier they don't have too much left
outstanding and PSC has to vote of course too.

But I'm giving my official +1 .

I've got some loose ends to tie up with tiger geocoder, but that is more of
a side extra anyway and not part of core PostGIS.

And Devrim -- since you now package pgRouting as well -- may want to talk
with pgRouting folks. Would be nice to have that tested alongside 9.3. I
haven't had a chance to test pgRouting 1.07 on 9.3 yet, but planning to and
also to package for 9.3 beta. I suspect pgRouting 2.0 won't be ready before
9.3 comes out.

Steve -- thoughts? I've also cc'd pgRouting development so Daniel et.al can
chime in.

Thanks,
Regina

Hi,

Per
http://www.postgresonline.com/journal/archives/303-Which-PostGIS-should-you-
use-with-PostgreSQL-9.3.html

and given that PostgreSQL 9.3 will go beta sometime next week, I think we
need 2.1 beta for testers. Are you planning to release beta1 before
PostgreSQL 9.3 beta?

I not sure we have defined in detail what 2.0 release is going to be. We have discussed it a bunch, but Daniel has been busy and I'm the only one working on the release. I suppose we could arbitrarily declare it done once I have refactored the API, as we have merged a lot of new code already. But a big missing piece is the documentation. I'll try to figure this out with Daniel.

Meanwhile, the safe thing to do is plan on packaging a release out of master on github. I have not paid much attention to that. That said my branch sew-devel-2_0 currently builds and works on pg9.2 and postgis 1.5 and 2.0.

Is postgis 2.1 in trunk? or the mirrored github repository? If so, I would be happy to pull that when I have some time and verify that my branch works with that.

Thanks,

Regina

PostGIS 2.1 is both on github and svn trunk.
As dustymugs (Bborie) mentioned, strk (Sandro) manages the git repo and he
has it mirroring SVN is my understanding.
