[pgrouting-users] [pgrouting-dev] pgRouting 2.2.0 beta1 is available for testing

Hi all,

Vicky has release pgRouting 2.2.0 beta1 from the develop branch. You can read about it and download from here:

https://github.com/pgRouting/pgrouting/releases

This fixes a couple of critical release packaging issues.

The release announcement also has links to the new documentation. This release has lots of fixes and some new features that I think you will find interesting and useful. Links for downloading it are at the bottom of the release announcement on the link above.

Many thanks for all the work Vicky has put into these releases.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Things that you can do:

* read and report documentation issues
* download, compile, and try it out and report any issues that you find
* Mac OS-X testing. This is important for someone to compile, install and make some simple tests. Our normal OS-X guru is busy and it would be great to get some confirmation that this is working.

As you can see we are moving fast and your support is critical as we make changes and releases. Please give us a helping hand with this release.

Best regards,
   -Steve

Hi List,

When upgrading to a different version off Postgis, they supply an upgrade script to update the current database to the new release.

Will pgroute 2.2 have a script as well?

Thanks Vcky

Just how do you invoke the test sequence?

There does not seem to be a test target in the makefile

The page https://github.com/pgRouting/pgrouting/wiki/Automated-Testing-(Unit-Tests)

refers to a python script for testing, but it seems to be missing any ideas?

Hi Dave,

There is never being a test target, (CMakelists needs to be improved)
http://docs.pgrouting.org/v2.2.0-beta1/doc/src/installation/install-dependencies.html#pgtap-pg-prove-perl-for-tests

how to test:

  1. this is the v2.0.0 style testing

tools/testers/algorithm-tester.pl

  1. I am gradually moving tests to use pgTap & pg_prove
Note: the CMakelists.txt does not check yet for that to exist

createdb pgr___test
sh ./tools/testers/pg_prove_tests.sh
dropdb pgr___test

hope it helps.
