Dear James,
I have one Laptob and one PC with me, on laptop I have installed PostgreSQL 9.0 and on PC I have installed PostgreSQL 8.4 but both of laptop and PC I used pgRouting-1.03_pg-8.4.2 (I downloaded from here: http://www.pgrouting.org/download.html) both of PostgreSQL version is work well with pgRouting-1.03_pg-8.4.2
That mean you can install PostgreSQL 9.0 or PostgreSQL 8.4 and use pgRouting-1.03_pg-8.4.2.
Best,
Sittichai Choosumrong

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=“utf-8”Dear Sittichai,
Thank you for your reply, very useful and helpful.
Would you mind just confirming though that you have installed PostgreSQL
9.0 in Windows, and then used the PGRouting 8.4.2 Windows Binary to install
PGRouting? And that it works fine?Thank you
James

Hi James,
About your question;
- I note that PGRouting with Windows Binaries is on version 8.4.2
(http://www.pgrouting.org/download.html#windows-binaries ). Could
someoneplease confirm which version of PostgreSQL I should install to ensure
that
PGRouting works with it? List here:I also installed pgRouting on Windows 7 Binaries and I installed
postgresql 8.4 it is work well
for another computer I use postgresql 9.0 this version also have no
problem with pgRouting on my PC.
So you can choose.
- I have a road network that I use in ArcGIS at the moment, stored in
an
access database, but I would like to use it in PG Routing instead. Could
someone talk me through how to do this or provide a link to a guide? I
thought that I could perhaps save it as a Shapefile and then use the
QGIS
‘Spit’ tool to move it into the PostgreSQL database. Would this be a
suitable method? Will it work? You can see this link http://www.pgrouting.org/docs/foss4g2008/ch05.html
Hope this is could help you to start working with pgRouting
BompP.S. Am sorry about the previous mail that I forgot to change the subject.

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=“iso-8859-1”Hi everyone,
A couple of basic questions that I hope someone could help me with.
I note that PGRouting with Windows Binaries is on version 8.4.2 (
http://www.pgrouting.org/download.html#windows-binaries ). Could someone
please confirm which version of PostgreSQL I should install to ensure that
PGRouting works with it? List here:
http://www.enterprisedb.com/products-services-training/pgdownload . As an
aside I will be wanting to use PostGIS too, but I hope/prsume that this is
largely unrelated to my question.I have a road network that I use in ArcGIS at the moment, stored in an
access database, but I would like to use it in PG Routing instead. Could
someone talk me through how to do this or provide a link to a guide? I
thought that I could perhaps save it as a Shapefile and then use the QGIS
