Name: Prashant Bahuguna
Tell us about yourself: I am an open-source enthusiast and a Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate at NIT Hamirpur. I enjoy tackling complex algorithmic problems through competitive programming and have practical experience building scalable full-stack applications, such as a blockchain-powered registry called Carbon Setu. I am eager to bring my problem-solving skills and passion for collaborative development to the open geospatial ecosystem.
Any OSGeo projects and communities you are involved in: I am currently exploring the broader OSGeo umbrella, actively reviewing repositories, and preparing to engage with specific developer mailing lists to find a project match for Google Summer of Code 2026.
What do you want to learn / contribute? I want to learn the architecture of large-scale open-source geospatial tools and how they are maintained by a global community. My goal is to contribute by writing optimized code, improving user interfaces, and dedicating my summer to successfully completing a GSoC 2026 project.
Do you need an OSGeo account? yes
