Problem with d.3d

Does anyone know of a way whereby single clear
cut peaks can be obtained with a good view of the stream too for correlation
purposes?

This can't be done in d.3d, since it will only take ONE elevation layer. The
best you can do is put your point measurements in a cell map using very small
cells, then use that as the elevation layer in d.3d so that the 3d spikes
become very sharp. You create a color layer by pasting the stream and measure-
ment layers together. Then drape the whole thing over the elevation layer. It
still won't look good. If your processor and screen can take it, you should
try using the SG3d module (contributed code to Grass) which permits points and
lines to float over or under a cell surface.
