Could I request a subcategory be created for the QGIS US User Group?
Here’s the US group logo:
Maybe we need a more “square” version?
@rjhale1971 where did this logo come from? Is there an SVG somewhere?
I think @rjhale1971 already asked but he did in a ticket asking for admin rights to mailman. I have updated the subject of the ticket and marked as discourse #3112 (Move QGIS.us to discourse) – OSGeo
@rjhale1971 Can you confirm everyone is in agreement. I think you said they were in the email you sent @cvvergara, but please confirm on the above mentioned ticket.

Woot - look who figured out how to log into Discord thans to @jcarlson . Vicky had emailed me a few days back and said I’d need to get the list owner involved - and I think that’s Kurt Menke. I think.

…and having re-read the ticket. Oh man I forgot Jeff Johnson was the admin.
I think we just stole from the QGIS Website and added a -US. Lemme ask the person that did it to see if there is a SVG. I bet we only have a jpeg or png
Do we want to use the old QGIS-US logo that Michele designed? Here are the SVG and PNG files:

OK - so my plan is today to send an email to QGIS-user-us (or whatever it is - I’m still in a covid fog) and say “Hey Lets move to discourse” and a few other things about the BOF. I expect no one is going to complain. After that I’ll look at the options and if anyone has opinions please speak up. Then maybe we can get this moving.

I haven’t seen any responses on the mailing list.
Regardless of the mailing list migration, couldn’t we still just get a subcategory for QGIS US users on here and start fresh discussions? Or does that complicate migrating the mailing list?
I spoke with Vicki and Regina - it’s about ready to be migrated. I gotta add one more thing to the ticket and it should happen pretty soon. I’ve been a bit slack this week on getting that done.

Just an FYI that @cvvergara is going to be at Google Summer of Code Summit for a couple of days, so she won’t be able to do it probably until late next week.
