After the gloomy messages about GRASS' future, it is harder to
keep thinking about software improvements. Still, I've been looking
at features in the "fragstats" program compared to r.le.patch,
r.le.dist, and r.le.tex to see what ideas from fragstats I should
try to get into the r.le programs. I have some ideas already, since
I spent a few days with Barbara Marks (fragstats author) this Spring.
I would, however, also appreciate any feedback from people who may
have used both programs. Are there particular features in fragstats
that you would like to see in the r.le programs? Please send your
thoughts directly to me.
