RE: [VisCom] Next VisCom mtg, and Where stuff

HI Tyler,

Yes, I do...

I'd like de-brief on the Where 2.0 conference and be sure whoever from
your team is working on the OSCON show syncs with our team. We have a
top sponsorship there at 60K. We have a 30x30 booth. The show is in
July so we need to be sure preparations are underway.

Perhaps we can just have those who were key participants in the planning
for Where 2.0 and those who will be Key for OSCON join? I think we
could keep to 30 minutes.

Let me know what you think.

Lots more to do, especially some things we put off. But I'm thinking
a week break would be helpful too.

getting
the Where logistics together. We'll miss your help.

Ditto. Peter and the Autodesk team made this all look soooo easy.

I'd like to, and being able to promote an OSGeo presence there would
provide more incentive to go; as mentioned on irc, Schuyler/OpenLayers
might possibly be funded for their presence too. Nonchalant about the
planning unless help is needed, but this looks like enough lead time
to get something plausible together...

I'll be on a train Thursday morning [Hi, Arnulf!], but I suppose I could
try to call in on my cell phone.

(Did we find out the secret passcode for the telecon?)

At the very least, I will do my best to type up some post-mortem notes
on Where and send them around before the meeting.

Hey,
I didn't know you had trains at all... We could consider naming this function not 'chair' but 'coach seat' to make it fit reality...

I could join in on Thursday. I'd like to officially propose mpg taking over the chair of VisCom. Technically this has already happened and it only needs to be formalized. Is this something we can do within VisCom internally, or do we need a board motion, second, vote, approval?

We need to prepare a German language of the information material and posters within the next 10 days. Could someone who feels responsible (hopefully mpg?!) inform us as soon as we have stable versions in the library?

Regards, Arnulf.

I think the board can just vote to do this.

All that is in the library so far are the English PDF files. I used the open source desktop publishing application called Scribus to make the brochures. I should package those up. I could also export them as EPS if that were helpful. What would work best for others?
