Our OSGeo friends in Australia are gaining more critical mass and are requesting to have an Australia focused mailing list. Can we create a new list: australia@osgeo.org for them? In lieu of any other process, I just wanted to ask it on SAC list first.

In the past the rule was that the community manager could create a new
mailing list at the request of any moderately credible set of users for
a working group, local chapter, etc. I think that would extend to you.
So, yes, please go ahead.
