Wiki is now read-only, you'll get an error message when trying to edit.
Move is in progress. Well'll leave the old wiki in this status for a
while and simply let it fade out by having the DNS change distributed,

Martin hi,
for next read-only event for the wiki I suggest to change LocalSettings.php

adding:
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['read'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['edit'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['createpage'] = false;
$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['createtalk'] = false;

or something like this

this will avoid to show any DB errors.

ciao

lorenzo

Well, personally _I_ did not have any access to the old Wiki setup,
only Till Adams had. One of the reasons why we've been moving the
whole thing _is_ to allow SAC members accessing the Wiki install.
Unfortunately Till currently has a broken clavicle and therefore is a
bit handicapped. So we (I) decided to take the "easy route" and simply
lock any database write access .... :slight_smile:

BTW, the Wiki now resides at its new location.
Distribution of the DNS change for 'wiki.osgeo.org' has already been
                                               ^^^
started, in the meantime you'll be able to access the new Wiki instance
at 'wiki.osgeo.net'.
               ^^^
Have fun,
  Martin.

I'd like to mention one thing: Until now there is a wildcard entry for
'*.wiki.osgeo.org' which I did _not_ yet start to migrate. Do we need
this beast or should we take this chance to discard it ?

Cheers,
  Martin.

Martin,

I am not aware of anything depending on this wildcard, and I didn't realize
it existed. I would say discard it.

Best regards,

Hi Martin,
thanks for the smooth transition!

Till,
thanks for hosting this Wiki "temporarily" (18 months!) with practically
no downtime whatsoever.

Best regards,
Arnulf
