All,
Please accept my resignation as the OSGeo SAC Chair.
Given the additional responsibilities the transition away
from Collabnet entails, I feel I do not have the time to
effectively Chair this committee.
Howard Butler has agreed to assume my responsibilities and I
hereby propose him as my replacement.
Unless my resignation causes undo hardship or confusion
please consider this effective immediately.
It has been an honor.
Cheers
Norman

Thanks for your involvement Norman - I have appreciated your efforts. I'm glad to see that Howard is interested - thank you both!

I personally feel it would give Howard more stature to
get things
done, though it isn't strictly necessary. I also feel
that SAC may
need a bit more organizational structure as it takes on
responsibility for all OSGeo infrastructure (post- collabnet).
If you are amendable, I'd like you to be the one that
proposes him as
chair to SAC.
Howard,
If you are amenable to this, just give the word when you
are ready for me to make the proposal.
Cheers
Norman

Norman,
Of course, that doesn't get you off SAC, just off the hot seat!
Howard Butler has agreed to assume my responsibilities and I hereby propose him as my replacement.
+1 for Howard as chair.
Assuming Howard has the support of the committee, I'll bring forward
his nomination at the board meeting this Friday.
Best regards,
