I cleared up a little space, in my home folder, not too much. But was enough to get mysql restarted and Drupal back up. Thanks for pinging about this problem Chris. The trouble brings us back to this old issue:

On the 6th, /var/lib/mysql *.bin files started stacking up again, often twice per hour at 1GB+. Not sure what changed.

What changed is that we have 4 new databases for Drupal. IOW
odgeo_drupal osgeo_fdo osgeo_mapguide and osgeo_mapbender should be
duped and mothballed, and then deleted from mysql. The new databases are
called drupal_osgeo, drupal_fdo, drupal_mapguide and drupal_mapbender.
Also I changed the drupal cron job to run on all four sites once per
hour (it might create some additional stuff like search indexes etc, but
should not be such a biggie)
