[SAC] 'mailman' component on trac ?

Being there 144 tickets mentioning "mailing list" I wonder if it would
be useful to add a "mailman" (or "mailing list") component on the
osgeo trac.

To be honest I was looking for a component to file my
"https form with http action" ticket [1] but maybe both "create new
mailing lits" and "mailing list software is misbehaving" could be
filed under the same component. What do you think Jorge ?

Of course!

Cannot you just add it?

Markus

Sure, my only concern is those ticket should still reach a mailing list, SAC ideally, and not an alias or anything like that.

Never administered Trac but my guess is that every component has a default email address to send ticket activity right?

Sent from my phone, excuse my brevity.

Good point. I now realize this is not currently happening for components
with an owner other than "the mailing list"

Yes, every component has an "owner", which receives notifications.

BUT (looking at PostGIS trac config) you can have someone to always
receive those notifications in Cc:

[notification]
smtp_always_cc = <destination>

Shall we try that ? Could be flooding or not, I'm not sure about
actual activity density.

My idea was to put you, Jorge, as the owner of the "mailman"
component.

I ended up adding Jorge as the owner and
setting sac@lists.osgeo.org as a destination for every notification
(in Cc).

Let's see how it goes, we can get back on this if it is too annoying.
