Was directed in #osgeo at freenode.net to file a ticket here for this:

Hello, I'm writing on behalf of our local user group:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/PDX-OSGEO. We recently created #OSGEO-PDX on
freenode.net and would like to request an OSGEO bot in our channel if
possible, and to make sure we are coordinating properly. I would also like
to add it to the list at http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/IRC [forgive me, I'm
new to this] and will do so pending response here.
