If I understood the archived copy well, there are a lot of old usermaps
on that page which might be a candidate for removal. If nobody
objects, I'd try to clean the page from these maps and decide
afterwards how to deal with the memory settings.

worth a try! You could save it in the related "Talk" page for a test.
