Some users reported planet.osgeo.org is not accessible for them
today (yesterday too). I can confirm that too.
Is that temporary or something to worry about?

Both 
I discovered an urgent need for action and, as a consequence, I decided
to run a few updates. Unfortunately, the initial setup lacked some
prerequisites, therefore we're now waiting for assistance by OSL,
because none of us has access to the machine console.
