[SAC] Re: [OpenLayers-Dev] server resources meeting

For the time being, I have turned off spatialreference.org, which is the
site which is actually locking up the server. If we see more failures,
we can look into it more seriously, but I expect that this should stop the
server from falling over again for the time being.

I just restarted Apache (with `/etc/init.d/apache2 restart`).

Please recommend an alternative if there is a better way.

Now is a good opportunity to test out those docs (from the meeting
that never happened). OpenLayers.org is currently down.

One of the agenda items that I wanted to discuss was alternate hosting
for things like examples and/or the OpenLayers.js that other sites
point to.

If anybody has any suggestions or opinions, feel free to chime in.

I can not say for sure that I will be able to participate at the proposed time tomorrow, but I will try.

Hey-

I'd like to have an meeting to talk about OpenLayers server resources. I
know this has been (almost exclusively) Chris' domain over time. I also
know Chris has done a bunch of work moving things to OSGeo infrastructure -
allowing (I think) more of us to be involved in maintaining things. In
practice, I think we're still in the same position as we were before - with
one person largely responsible for keeping things running.

My goals for the meeting:
1) Extract as much detail we can (from Chris) about what runs where so that
we can document how others can be involved in maintenance.
2) Discuss the potential for distributing things (examples, hosted build) if
appropriate.

Could others attend an IRC meeting on Tuesday, Dec 14 at 17:00? I could do
Thursday or Friday as well.

Tuesday and Thursday work for me. Friday doesn't.

How about we shoot for Thursday?

Should be short. Mostly to verify and wikify what cr5 responded with. There's a small chance I'll be stuck in an airport somewhere (I've had bad luck lately).
