Thank you for the clarifications. It's true. The gallery was invaded by spam. If you need an extra hand for the moderation process count me in as a volunteer.

"The OSGeo Gallery site is offline for maintenance due to spam outbreak."
The mechanism of submitting new sites must be revisited.
I would suggest to have a moderation queue to avoid spamming
as it happened in the past.
