[SAC] Re: RHEL 4 Security Update

Folks,

Tyler, Howard and I received this message from peer1. I have run up2date -u (which appeared to do nothing), and rebooted osgeo1 and osgeo2 with no
apparent problems. Keep an eye out in case any services might not have
restarted automatically.

Best regards,

Dear Valued PEER 1 Customer:

A security update was recently released for your Linux server that requires a
reboot to take effect. Please schedule and perform a reboot at your earliest
convenience to protect the security and reliability of your dedicated server.

We recommend the following:

1. Ensure the updates have already been applied by typing 'up2date -u' at the
root prompt.

2. After the updates have been installed, type 'shutdown -r now' to reboot your
system. The 'up2date -u' command may report "No Packages marked for Update".
This does not indicate whether or not your system requires a reboot and we
still recommend using 'shutdown -r now' to complete installation.

The security and reliability of your dedicated server is important to us. If
you need assistance or if your machine does not respond under 5 minutes, please
call us at 1-877-504-0091 or open a reboot request online at
https://mypeer1.com.

Thank you for your continued business and support.

Sincerely,

Support Team
PEER 1
