[SAC] Request for new VM for OSGeo

Lance and OSUOSL Team,

OSGeo would like a VM on the OSUOSL ganeti cluster.
Debian 9
2 cpu
4 GB Ram
100 GB hard drive
Hostname: web18a.osgeo.osuosl.org

I've attached my public key, so you can give me root ssh access.

Thanks,
Alex Mandel

Hi Alex!

Just to clarify, do you want to make this on the ganeti-osgeo cluster, or our
production ganeti cluster?

We want it on the OSUOSL ganeti cluster, we're specifically testing
migrating off some of the old osgeo hardware.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello!

The VM is up and ready! We disabled root login on all our images, so I made a
user for you on the machine that has sudo access.
user: tech_dev

Let me know if you are having trouble!

I can confirm that I can get in with my key. However sudo is set to ask
for a password so I can't use it. We either need to set a password or
change sudo to not require it for this user.

Thanks,
Alex

Howdy Alex!

There is a password file in your home directory. Sorry I didn't mention that!

Ah, didn't notice that. Ok I got it to work, but then made a silly
mistake, I tried to lockdown that file more and accidentally blocked
myself out. Can you either chown to tech_dev on the file, or chmod it
back so I can read it again.

Thanks,
Alex
