[SAC] shell access

Sorry to be repetitious about this but yesterday I served as Lorenzo's "svn gateway" - doing updates on the www.osgeo.org servers just so he could test his new layout changes. This is because he has no shell access to the machine. He does all his testing on the test server, then we use svn update to move the changes over to the main. This is fine when I am around and have time to help, but I'm afraid I'm a serious bottleneck. Every time I'm on the road someone seems to need my help and I can't always do it. I suggest SAC consider giving him shell access so he can at least handle his own layout changes.

I know there is reluctance to doing this, but I think having another person (from a european timezone) with good knowledge, interest and good mojo would be helpful at this point.

Nice Job!
1) Would it be hard to make the mouseover on the link text dark green instead of red? The red just seems a bit out of place with the rest of the site.

absolutely easy.
choose an RGB or HEX color and I'll put it on and commit to SVN.

someone else will have to "svn update" main server, I have no access.

2) I'd like to see some branding on the print layout; Maybe the OSGeo logo? Is it possible to leave the header bar visible?

the problem is that our layout puts all images in the background.

this is not a problem when navigating because is a good usability trick but for the print layout means loosing all images.
Personally I don't think we need an image in the printed layout.
If you print it you normally want to read text not images.
but this can be an open discussion too.

ciao
Lorenzo
