[SAC] Ticket open for 2 weeks.

Hello,

we opened a ticket two weeks ago and we have not received no response. I haven’t any past experience with this administrative questions and I don’t know if this is normal.

Can you check the ticket?

Thanks.

In fact the number of open tickets regarding mailing lists is
growing[1]. Maybe we need to ask on Discuss for some help on
administering mailman? I'm admin of some lists at OSGeo and know
something about mailman but I've never do more advanced tasks like
migration.

So, I can help (maybe with some guidance) to start taking care of this
kind of tickets in August, but again I would prefer to have more hands
to avoid bottlenecks.

Cheers

I think that FrankW does most of the the mailman tickets. I also
think that he might be on vacation now.

Most OSGeo committees are open to additional members, so finding
people with skills to help on SAC and getting them to dedicate
volunteer time to it would probably be welcome. I've certainly
appreciated and benefited from Jorge's help on nabble stuff (as well
as FrankW's mailman and trac assistance).

In SAC there might also be some effort to not have too many people
working in the same realm and trip each other up, not really sure.
Perhaps a SAC member can clarify, or it might be on the wiki
somewhere.

Yes, we have a backlog of requests for mailing lists.

Yes, only 1-2 people usually do the list creation. But I think that's
primarily because those people know the system well and what to do. So
another 1-2 people who are willing to be trained on how to manage the
mailing lists (preferably people with previous mailman experience) would
be welcome.

Thanks,
Alex

I think we are in the middle of summer vacations, no fault on anyone. I
have found instructions at
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/SAC:Mailing_Lists#System_Tasks I will try to
tackle this now. If you object ping me now on #osgeo on IRC. (I often
find there is no better way to kick those in motion than by trying to do
something they don't want you to do!!!)

So, ping me if you have another solution.
