[SAC] Trac instance for Enterprise Linux GIS

Hi,

Enterprise Linux GIS is a small project / SIG created last Spring:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Enterprise_Linux_GIS

We currently use this wiki page and a mailing-list el@lists.osgeo.org .
We also maintain an RPM repository in a separate infrastructure.

We noticed that there are some packaging points for the ELGIS RPM
repository that we cannot fix right away, and we would be happy to
have a way to track them.

Would it be possible to have a Trac instance for this?
Also, is it possible (or rather, allowed) to create other pages on the wiki?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Mathieu

Hi,

I forgot to say that we have the possibility to host a Bugzilla
instance on argeo.org (where the packages are built and stored).

We just think that it would be better to have has many things as
possible centralized under OSGeo.

So don't hesitate to say that you don't want to create Trac instance
for such a small project (perfectly understandable), and we'll move on
to another approach.

Cheers,

Mathieu

I see no problem to provide a trac instance for Enterprise Linux GIS. I can also take care of this task. I’ll wait a while to see other admins thoughts.

Folks,

I also see no problem with this. Alan, I think the process for providing
trac and/or svn services to a non-osgeo project is for you to make a motion
to SAC to do so, volunteering to be the one to do it. When that passes you
provide two days notice to the board in which they may object (but they don't
actually have to take any action for things to proceed).

Best regards,

Hi,

were do we stand in this process?

I would like to communicate more widely about the ELGIS effort by
announcing it to the communities of the software we package, and to
the wider CentOS/ScientificLinux communities.

If there is soon a TRAC instance, we would wait for it so that we put
a link to it in the announcement.

If it should take a bit longer (which is absolutely not a problem),
then we would send this announcement now.

Cheers,
