[SAC] Wiki pages need update and Portal committee page is missing

Hi,
SAC is way to important to not be properly documented in the Wiki. I will tend to the page
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/SAC
if that is fine by you (search for the link that shows it is an approved committee, correct links, etc.).

I also added some information regarding Drupal permissions here:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/OSGeo_Portal_Site#CMS_Permissions

which already exists here in an approved version:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/SAC:Security_Groups_Policy

The official document needs to be updated to reflect current Drupal roles or the ones currently in use have to be updated to match those of the SAC page. We need to take a lead here though.

The Wiki is still not capable of finding three letter words so that I did not find what I was looking for. This is just a darn Wikipedia default but I have no access to that machine so cannot do anything. I think it would be wise to migrate this Wiki to a server closer to OSGeo next so that SAC can access it.

Best regards,
Arnulf.

I meant to say that a page describing SAC is missing on http://www.osgeo.org (or it is so well hidden that I did not find it).

Arnulf,

Do you think it is necessary to have a SAC page on the Drupal portal?
Some committees, like the Incubator, have an "outwards facing" page
to describe themselves, but it doesn't seem critical to me for primarily
internal committees like SAC and WebCom to have distinct pages there.
At least not in my mind.

Actually, there has always been a "stub" entry for "committees" on the page:

    http://www.osgeo.org/content/foundation/about.html

I'll take it on myself to prepare a list of committees, pointing to their
(apparent) primary page whether it is on the drupal site or in the wiki.

Best regards,

Arnulf,

No, I just reasoned that all committees should have an "info sheet" on Drupal (like the software projects). No reason really (blushes). I thought that formally the member list must be in the "stable" section of the OSGeo web site and that the Wiki due to its transient character could never serve that purpose.

Great. First I mess up things then I over formalize. Eventually I will find the right way and turn left. ...we could at least protect those few Wiki pages with information that has official character. But we don't *have* to do that either...

Actually, there has always been a "stub" entry for "committees" on the page:

   http://www.osgeo.org/content/foundation/about.html

But from there http://www.osgeo.org/committees.html goes 404

I'll take it on myself to prepare a list of committees, pointing to their
(apparent) primary page whether it is on the drupal site or in the wiki.

Best regards,

This will turn (apparent) into official and we have resolved yet another issue.

Thanks a lot,
Arnulf.
