Satellite Derived Bathymetry Plugin for QGIS 4

:waving_hand: Hi, OSGeo Community!

It’s been a while since I last engaged with the local chapter, but as a long-standing OSGeo Charter Member, I’m excited to “check back in” with a new contribution.

I’ve officially released the SDB Production Suite (v1.0.1), now live on the QGIS Python Plugin Repository (ID: 4946).

:satellite: About the Project:

Developed during a hydrographic survey in Sitio Ilian, Brgy. Apurawan, Aborlan, Palawan, this suite makes high-precision Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) accessible to all. It uses a Random Forest Regression engine to correlate Sentinel-2 data (ACOLITE) with sonar points.

Key Features:

  • :white_check_mark: QGIS 4.0 Ready: Built for the latest PyQt6/Python 3.12 standards.

  • :chart_increasing: Automated Interpretation: Logic engine categorizes precision (High/Med/Low) based on RMSE and R2.

  • :round_pushpin: Validated: Achieved 1.14m RMSE in our Palawan pilot project.

I’m looking forward to reconnecting with the OSGeo-Philippines crew and hearing your feedback!
