Seeking geospatial feedback on a UK Environmental Intelligence platform

Hi everyone,

I am Oladapo. My background is in Marine Science and I completed my MSc in Data Science and Environmental Intelligence at the University of Plymouth.

I have been developing a UK Environmental Intelligence platform that integrates multiple environmental datasets and turns them into location-level environmental intelligence from a postcode.

It currently brings together areas including flooding, rainfall, heat, air quality, terrain, soil and future climate information, with a decision layer intended to make the underlying environmental data more useful for actual location-based decisions.

The platform is now working, but before I continue developing it I had really like to expose some of the methodology to external scrutiny.

In particular, I had value criticism around:

  • combining environmental datasets with different spatial and temporal characteristics;

  • how uncertainty and dataset limitations should be communicated;

  • translating environmental observations and projections into defensible location-level decision intelligence; and

anything in the resulting assessment that a geospatial professional would consider misleading, weak or methodologically questionable.

I have a controlled online version available for testing and would be happy to share access with anyone interested.

I am much more interested in finding weaknesses.

Thanks,

Oladapo
